Inverell has a number of museums that preserve local history. The Mining Museum, Sapphire Center and Green Valley museum are well worth visiting. Life in early Australia is magnificently preserved in the Inverell Pioneer Village loccated near the race course and showground. Five kilometers south of the town is the Goonoowigal Bushland Reserve which has great appeal to bushwalkers. The town has na excellent golf course and good quality accommodation.
