Yamba (population 5,500) is a magnet for tourists and people who enjoy a sea-change lifestyle. The town is situated at the mouth of the Clarence River and is the base for the second largest fishing fleet in New South Wales. The town has many tourist attractions including excellent surfing beaches, clubs and hotels, fishing, an 18 hole golf course and excellent shops and facilities. Many accommodation options are available and the town virtually doubles in size over the summer holidays. The Yamba lighthouse offers an excellent vantage point for whale watching. The nearby Yuraygir National Park has many excellent bushwalking tracks. Ferries and river cruises are also very good. REGION: NSW > Northern Rivers > Yamba |
